By the way here is an article I just came across that maybe you could share with your mom: https://gaceta.es/mundo/exceso-de-mortalidad-y-vacunas-covid-una-investigacion-academico-institucional-inaplazable-20221214-0730/

Hey, you're my neighbour, I live in St. Catharines. My husband and I (he is Mexican) were planning to move to Mexico when things were really bad here in Canada. For now since things have eased up we are staying put, but he wants to move eventually. All the things you write bring back so many memories of Mexico- all so true and the things I think about when I want to move to Mexico, haha. All the best to you with your move and also with convincing your mom not to get more shots.

Thank you! I only applied for Canadian citizenship in October and the website said the process took 25 months. I don’t want to burn bridges so we’re waiting… My husband will retire in one year exactly, so we’re likely to go then. We’re definitely moving as soon as we can! (See my first ever YouTube one minute video about Mexico and Canada during lockdowns: https://youtu.be/FVDa0RPKjtM )

Thanks, I'll watch it. Wow, citizenship takes 2 years?! We're planning to apply for my husband, I guess we better get on that. That's insane. I will definitely watch your video, thanks!

Definitely start the process NOW. Especially if there’s any possibility of you moving out of Canada! Don’t be like me: I arrived in 2008, married my Canadian husband in 2009, and got my permanent residency in 2010. I just never imagined for a moment I would ever want to go back to Mexico!

I know right? I never thought I'd want to leave either 😞

But seriously, start the citizenship process ASAP. They ask all kinds of documents and it could take time to gather them (depending on each individual’s circumstances, for example, I needed a police certificate from Mexico because I spent more than whatever number of days in Mexico). We don’t know what the leaders will try next and two passports are better than one in the long run 😰

Thanks, yes we're planning to do that ASAP. However I'm wondering why you needed police certificates? We needed those to apply for permanent residence for him but I didn't think it was needed for citizenship?
